ART THERAPY

Express what words can’t — and understand yourself in a deeper way.

A workspace with an open sketchbook displaying watercolor brush strokes, a paint palette with mixed colors, brushes, a ceramic mug filled with tea or coffee, potted plants on a windowsill, a vase with greenery, a container holding colored pencils, and a laptop.

Sometimes talking isn’t enough — and that’s where art can do the heavy lifting.

Art therapy offers a different kind of healing. You don’t have to be “creative” or “artistic” to benefit from it. It’s not about making something perfect — it’s about using color, imagery, and movement to express the feelings, memories, and experiences that are difficult to put into words.

Maybe you’ve tried talking things through, but you still feel stuck.
Maybe your emotions feel tangled, overwhelming, or hard to access.
Maybe you or your teen communicate better through images than conversation.

Art therapy at RISE is for teens (14+) and adults who want a supportive, expressive, and grounding way to explore what’s beneath the surface.

You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:

  • Knowing something is wrong but not having the words for it

  • Feeling disconnected from your emotions or overwhelmed by them

  • Bottling everything up until it spills out in ways you don’t like

how we can help

Art therapy helps you express, explore, and process your inner world in a way that feels natural and safe.

Our art therapists guide you through creative processes that make it easier to access emotions, memories, and insights that might feel hard to reach through talking alone. You don’t need special materials or artistic skill — just a willingness to try something different. We blend creativity with reflection, helping you connect meaning, emotion, and personal experience in ways that support deeper understanding and healing.

How Art Therapy Works Virtually

Virtual art therapy is simple and effective. You can use whatever materials you already have at home — a notebook, pens, markers, or any creative supplies you enjoy. During sessions, your therapist will guide you through prompts or exercises while you create in your own space. You can hold your artwork up to the camera or describe what you’ve made, and together we’ll explore the thoughts, feelings, and themes that emerge.

Get started

imagine if you…

You could finally access emotions that felt blocked

Instead of shutting down or staying stuck, you’d find new ways to understand what you feel — and why.

You felt calmer, clearer, and more in tune with yourself

Art-making can ground your nervous system, slow your mind, and help you process emotions safely and gently.

You discovered parts of yourself you haven’t met in years

Creativity opens doors — to insight, healing, play, and self-discovery in ways talk therapy alone sometimes can’t.

I want you to know:

You don’t have to find the words for everything.

Let’s work together to express what’s been hard to say and discover new insight through the creative process — gently, at your pace.
